Background

Union members celebrate a successful coup

Twinkieman's Local 6355 is a union of Twinkie factory employees located on square 63,55. Long before the outbreak, the employees of this factory unionized in order to protest unusually harsh working conditions: management did not allow for a post-lunch recess, nor afternoon naps, and some higher ups repeatedly complained about messes in the communal coffee space. The largely juvenile workforce of the time found these conditions to be unacceptable and mounted a strike. Workers quickly grew impatient: the strike ended when a handful of surly union members wrote themselves into the company chairman's will and stabbed him to death with a pair of those allegedly child-proof scissors, effectively seizing control of the factory. Though this coup disrupted the typical dynamic of union-management relations, the factory employees kept their union cards because they had just printed them out on really high quality paper and in color no less and they sure as hell weren't going to waste all that money when they could've just bought a ton of other cool stuff instead.

Large time increments later, as the original labor force aged and robots gradually reduced the need for human employees, factory life teemed with boredom. One day, amidst the hum of machines rhythmically injecting sugar goop into sugar cakes, a scraggly, ill-dressed young man staggered into the loading dock. Thinking him nothing more than a ravenous vagabond, a red-uniformed security guard walked over to escort him out of the building. Much to the collective dismay of the Twinkieworkers, the deranged man proceeded to dismember the guard before slurping his brains like they were coconut milk. A wave of zombies sharing this man's affliction soon followed, and it's been downhill ever since!

Coping with the Horde

Union members beat on some zombies with the help of local law enforcement

Given the unending nature of zombie attacks, Twinkieman's Local tries to keep a well-lit, well-furnished factory so as to boost team morale. Xmas lights until July, we say! European paintings on every wall! Of course, if a big ol' horde of undead stroll through, there's not much sense sacrificing yourself for replaceable, inanimate objects. Take some time to spruce up the neighborhood on a river tactics-inspired jaunt. And don't waste AP, unless of course, you want to!

A few notes on the efficient use of AP with respect to weapon usage

Interpretations here are based on data provided in the Search Odds page

Pistol (found): ~11 AP to find, 3 ammo (avg), 1 AP to shoot => 14 AP to (find+shoot) all bullets, 9.75 expected damage => 0.70 Damage/AP

Pistol (reloaded): ~6 AP to find, 6 ammo, 1 AP to load all, 1 AP to shoot => 13 AP to (find+shoot) all bullets, 19.5 expected damage => 1.50 Damage/AP

Shotgun (found): ~10 AP to find, 1 ammo (avg), 1 AP to shoot => 11 AP to (find+shoot) all bullets, 6.5 expected damage => 0.59 Damage/AP

Shotgun (reloaded): ~6 AP to find shell, 1 ammo, 1 AP to load, 1 AP to shoot => 8 AP to (find+shoot) all bullets, 6.5 expected damage => 0.81 Damage/AP

Given: Guns are searched for indiscriminately. If no gun is dropped, which gun is more efficient to use once acquired?

Pistol (found): 3 ammo (avg), 1 AP to shoot => 3 AP to shoot all bullets, 9.75 expected damage => 3.25 Damage/AP

Pistol (reloaded): 6 ammo, 1 AP to load all, 1 AP to shoot => 7 AP to shoot all bullets, 19.5 expected damage => 2.79 Damage/AP

Shotgun (found): 1 ammo (avg), 1 AP to shoot => 1 AP to shoot all bullets, 6.5 expected damage => 6.5 Damage/AP

Shotgun (reloaded): 1 ammo, 1 AP to load, 1 AP to shoot => 2 AP to shoot all bullets, 6.5 expected damage => 3.25 Damage/AP

Conclusion: In light of the fact that both pistols and shotguns are found using the same search action, once both guns are acquired it is more efficient to use the shotgun, despite the AP cost that comes with reloading a single shell rather than a pistol clip.
