Elizabeth Bickell

Caught in Spracklingbank when the outbreak hit, Elizabeth, a firefighter-turned-zombie hunter, has made the Millett Walk Fire Station her home. Fiercely stubborn and possessing a strong sense of loyalty, she wields an axe--albeit not very well--and throws herself readily into battle to help her comrades.

She was brought down when the Second Big Bash rolled through Spracklingbank and ruined the Millett Walk Fire Station, killing most of the members of the Millett Walk Fire Department. Spitting mud and groaning raggedly, she rose from the dead as a zombie and lumbered off to continue the fight against the Bash--even if it would be only with claws.

Later, after the Bash had moved on, she was revived and immediately returned to work with the Department.

History

Before the breakout, Elizabeth made her living as a firefighter for years, going through the motions and enjoying life and her job. All was well.

And then 2005 rolled around.

Elizabeth found herself in the middle of a zombie breakout. She woke up the morning of the event to wild sirens, screams, terrible groans. Foolishly, she dressed and hurried outside to see what was going on. She immediately came face to face with chaos--dead bodies littering the ground, skulls cracked open like eggs; others lying about clutching terrible wounds and moaning in agony; and at the end of the street...

Things. Creatures. Monsters. Grey-skinned, gaping, lurching, drooling animals that walked upright and appeared bipedal. They moved in a tightly-knit group, almost like a pack, splintering whenever they came across another human being. She watched in horror as one of them lumbered over to a man's crumpled body. It bent, mouth opening wide and talons sinking into his neck--

She ran. She ran and didn't stop running, fighting her way into alleys and through the press of panicked people and zombies, and made it to the Millett Walk Fire Station unharmed. There, she donned her gas mask, boots, and jacket, and lugged her fire axe down from a high shelf.

No one was ready when the zombies came. She was determined to get rid of them.
