It was still dark out and he was reading a book by candle light on a small table. As I approached he bade me to have a seat. I took a seat. He looked up; I was startled at the sight of a plain white mask with only one feature "Matthew 7:26-27" carved into it. He quietly said, "Welcome." Nervous, and eager to end the awkward silence I asked the obvious question, "What does Matthew 7:26-27 mean?" He responded by flipping through a few large sections of the book he was reading finally settling on a page and begins to read: "26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."    After reading he said, "I live my life by these words and all others contained in this book." As he got up to leave, impulsively I asked, "What is your name?" Pausing, he responds, "I have been given many names in my time, the most pleasant of which is MS. Follow the path of knowledge, it will keep you safe and prosper you in life." MS then disappeared into the chaos of the scene.    As I started to leave a posse came rushing into the library and corned me. The leader, a known head hunter, forced me against the bookshelf and yelled, "YOU! I am told you were seen speaking with that murderer!" Confused I say, "I have been in this library all day what are you talking about?!" The hunter harshly replied, "The man you spoke with had a mask on didn't he?" his grip tightening. Quickly, I say, "Yes, but-". Interrupting he roars, "Imbecile! He just cut someone down in the mall with a fencing foil! He is a Philosophe Knight!" Confused, I ask,"Who?" With a sigh a disgust he answers, "They are fanatics, cherishing books and 'Knowledge' over practical things like bullets. Viewing libraries and museums are sanctuaries. They claim to be 'Cleansing Malton of its ignorance.' Preaching that learning and education are the only way out of this hell. Those idiots, you cant kill a Zombie with a book." In a moment of guile I say, "No, but you can learn how to kill them better by reading one." In a fit of rage he kncked me to the ground with the butt of his shotgun and threatened, "Keep talking like that and I am going to give you the same treatment I give them." He grunts, "Lets go." They departed from the library. I was left thinking, "What if they are right? What if expanding our knowledge is the only way we will be saved?"
