Colonel Damien Laplant (MIA presumed KIA, Canadian Forces) was sent to Malton as part of an operation to evacuate a Canadian Necrotech engineer who was quarantined in the city when the outbreak began. The British government had, through several favours to the Canadian government, authorised the team to operate for three weeks within the city. During which time they were to locate and extract a Gordon Cantero.
The team was unable to find the engineer and were attacked by zombies. As a result the soldiers were killed or scattered and Damien found himself outside St Bartholomew's Hospital in Dakerstown on March 4th 2012. Unable to contact his field HQ outside Malton's walls, he began his new life inside the city.
