Another great day in Malton

I just wanted you to know that I've introduced the DSS satellite phone to the folks at CORAM, with whom Captain Video is now stationed, and it's catching on. No hard work goes unexploited! -Captain Video 04:21, 30 March 2010 (BST)

Heey you still playing? Miss you. The phone has over 600 active users now. So, like 3% of Malton's active population. I think that may be close to the share of people who metagame, so it probably won't get much more users. Here's another DSS toy for you to play with :) --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 20:17, 30 March 2010 (BST)

Map

The map rocks. Noticed a tiny bug though - http://dssrzs.org/map/location/95-36 Club Freestone and Jenning Avenue are transposed Gus Dink 00:53, 26 April 2010 (BST)

Fixed, you may have to reload the page. Thank you so much. I wonder how on Earth did that happen. --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 02:34, 26 April 2010 (BST)

DSS Satellite Phone PIN

Hey! I just wanted to ask whether there is any way of recovering my password - I managed to lose it. The somewhat good news (?) is that I haven't signed out so far so I was wondering whether there is a way of digging it out of my Firefox... I would welcome any reply! Thanks in advance! --Alexander Abramov 20:22, 29 April 2010 (BST)

Hey Alex. If the phone is working, then the PIN is in Firefox's configuration and yes, it can be recovered. Do this:
  • Type "about:config" in the location bar, without quotes.
  • In the Here be dragons screen, promise you'll be careful :)
  • Type "dss" in the Filter. You'll find your numbers and PINs in the list below.
If the phone isn't working any more, then you'll have to convince me that your phone number is yours. Which may be tricky, I'm afraid, because I won't peek in anyone's messages or phonebooks, 'cause it wouldn't be ethic, I hope you understand. So you can't just tell me "I PM'd this guy the other day" or "I have so and so in contacts" to verify it. It may be easier to just get a new number... --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 20:37, 29 April 2010 (BST)
Thanks! This worked just great! --Alexander Abramov 23:29, 1 May 2010 (BST)

Oh hai . . .

I was wondering if the sat phone worked on google chrome. Y'know, when I log my number and PIN and press "Activate", there comes a green led that won't stop flashing (I dunno if that's rite lol). But somehow it doesn't work! I've tried refreshing the page, restarting the phone and/or the browser, and some other stuff, but I still can't make it start lol

Ayup. Well the bad news is that the greasemonkey script doesn't work on Chrome (tighter security model there). It doesn't work on any other browser for that matter, it requires Firefox.
The good news is that you just reminded me I was supposed to finish packaging the phone as a Google Chrome extension. So, uninstall the script you installed, and install this. See the docs if you need it.
Have fun! :) --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 06:16, 5 June 2010 (BST)
