Sig Woes

Hey that comment on Talk:Grimmies/Voting#corrections wasn't really directed at you just a general comment about my disdain of extraneous sig code. Hope you didn't take it as a personal attack. I saw you made some sig changes.
I've had a gripe with the whole argument of templated sigs on admin pages since Karek brought it up after the update. I didn't think the argument held much water, TBH just as I thought the push to delete {{Nosubst}} as a "horrible hack" was a farce. Templated sigs are fine. They rarely break anything and would break things even more rarely if the were no "entire page" inclusions on admin pages. ~Vsig.png 17:04, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Nah, I didn't, I just thought I'd trim the code a bit, as I had lots of useless links in there and I hadn't edited it in over a year. It caused massive wiki lag though, so that's always good.--Yonnua Koponen Talk | Contribs 17:07, 27 July 2011 (BST)

Hm?

I heard from Babs you were planning a supposedly Malton Manhunt event involving seeds. What'cha up to that's so secret that not even me, the spokesperson for the Malton Manhunt doesn't seem to know about? ;) --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 03:04, 5 August 2011 (BST)

I see that this message is now obsolete as I just checked my email. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 03:57, 5 August 2011 (BST)

For fuck's sake

Why is Britain turning into a warzone Lewis? I was looking forward to the big game at Wembley this Wednesday, now it's cancelled! But I guess you have bigger problems judging by the amount of lowlife scum that plagues the streets. Hoping the boys in blue kick their ass really, royally good. Seriously, what is the world coming too?-- Cat Pic.png Thadeous Oakley Talk 14:51, 9 August 2011 (BST)

It will all be over by friday, don't worry. --Rosslessness 16:33, 9 August 2011 (BST)
This is all happening because your man Clegg is too busy sticking his head up Cameron's arse to deal with the country.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 17:53, 9 August 2011 (BST)
And here I was thinking it was a bunch of tossers robbing their own workplaces, turning up on the BBC confessing their looting and posing on twitter with the stuff they'd looted. The arab spring it aint. --Rosslessness 18:45, 9 August 2011 (BST)
I thought the hack on BlackBerry was a nice touch. Srsly though one dead guy shouldn't have sparked this much outrage. Its like half of London woke up on their period on Friday. Just need to wait five days for PMS to subside. ~Vsig.png 18:59, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Tottenham was that, the rest is opportunistic thuggery. Tonight with 3x the police and greater violence the cycle will be broken. Or London will arise as one with brooms. --Rosslessness 19:22, 9 August 2011 (BST)
If the government were competent, this would not be happening.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 19:40, 9 August 2011 (BST)

I don't think even if the government was perfect they would have been able to anticipate unrest at this scale or even been able ot stop it even if they thought it was going to happen and had time to prepare. -- Rahrah has a signature that won't become obsolete. 20:41, 9 August 2011 (BST)
Despite the fact that they've pretty much intentionally stirred up the hornet's nest with the anarchists over the past year? You'll notice that there were no major anarchist problems under the labour government. This is entirely a governmental problem.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 21:07, 9 August 2011 (BST)
I echo Ross and Rory's sentiment. It's just the vermin that's plundering for personal gain and "amusement", hiding behind the facade of some guy getting killed (probably for good reason) by the police. You can't hold the government responsible, not directly anyway, since it started out as a problem of the local London police. Now it's spiraled out of control so much the government is acting, and their actions are too fresh to be really worth judging right now, though I'd say sending more police seems adequate is a good enough reaction for now by David. Maybe after everything is done they might wanna put some more attention towards the local slums of England, which is where the problems seem to originate out. I don't see how Tory is immediately to blame, since those same slums have been there the past ten years. Finally, I like to again point out that the protesters aren't very political inclined anyway. They are just anti-goverment, anti-police, anti-established order, not necessary anti-Tory. -- Cat Pic.png Thadeous Oakley Talk 21:30, 9 August 2011 (BST)
Yeah, no, sorry, you're wrong.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 21:45, 9 August 2011 (BST)
and why's that? -- Cat Pic.png Thadeous Oakley Talk 21:47, 9 August 2011 (BST)
Pretty much everything you said is just factually wrong. The majority of the problem is not random opportunistic looters, it's organised groups of anarchists. The government had a massive opportunity to deal with this beforehand, and by not acting until now, they have failed. It's also the government that is to blame for pissing off the anarchist groups with nearly every decision they've made since they came in to power. The problem also isn't coming from "the local slums", it's coming from outside of the large cities, which is where many of the anarchists are surfacing from. It is absolutely because of the government that this has become such a problem.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 21:54, 9 August 2011 (BST)
The disappointing thing is that many are stealing because they can. I mean, there's a video somewhere of a pakistani guy that was beat up. An black guy helps him up and you think he's taking him to the hospital. Meanwhile, others have gathered and while the guy is being helped up, another guy goes through his backpack, and steals something from him. The black guy just gives the "fuck it" look and walks away, while the other men head off with the thief. It's just an example of bad morals resulting from chaos and violence and shows you how shitty of a future current generations are heading to. --TheBardofAwesome 22:12, 9 August 2011 (BST)
