Basic Info:

  • Excellent place to find first aid kits. Zombies frequently check inside.
  • Portable Generators have a use other than powering the lights and increasing search probability in hospitals. Players with the Surgery Skill can heal for 15 HP if the Hospital has a fueled up Generator.
  • Hospitals can be barricaded normally.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in Hospitals:
    • "...its wards and corridors blackened with the soot of a recent fire"
    • "...its empty wards criss-crossed with snapped quarantine tape."
    • "...one of the city's psychiatric hospitals."
    • "...dark corridors leading through abandoned wards."
    • "...its emergency room in disarray."
    • "...its lobby covered with quarantine posters."
    • "...a children's hospital with bright murals across the walls. "
    • "The main lobby is riddled with bullet holes."
    • "It was one of the last to be evacuated, and seems to have been cleared out in a hurry."
    • "...a derelict hospital that was closed down years ago."

Description

This is an imposing concrete building with black crosses painted across its doors. Not a wise place to sleep for the night. Inside: Its empty wards criss-crossed with snapped quarantine tape.

Barricade Policy

VSB during quiet days, EHB when 3+ zombies in 1 block radius.

August 31st 2010 EHB, radio transmitter set to 26.82 MHz, only 1 survivor inside - Miss Hyde 18:30, 31 August 2010 (BST)

May 2nd, 2010 Building at EHB, "A portable generator has been set up here. It is running, and powering a radio transmitter that's currently set to 26.81 MHz."

Jan 10th 2010 In Zombie Hands, all 8 survivors killed

Building kept at Very Strongly Barricaded (Level 10) No generator installed and not many break-in attempts by near by zombies because the lights are "off" Keep them off. We don't want this hospital to fall yet. --Angelbroken 17:09, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
