History and Significance

Club Quarman was the birthplace for the rich and varied Vinetown music movement. Its original manager in the 70s Otis Quarman even founded Bottomfeeder Records, in order to introduce Vinetown's bands to the whole of Malton.

Almost every night of the week a different genre was performed. Sunday was Grunge, Monday was Jazz.

Some people believe that club Quarman , with its ability to offer an escape from the urban decay of Vinetown for talented musicians did more for the youth of the area than any charity group ever managed.
