Rainbow
History
Rainbow is an international military team established in 1998 in order to deal with terrorist threats worldwide. Operating under the guise of miscellaneous counter-terrorism teams allowed Rainbow operatives to act against large and powerful terror groups without fear of personal retribution against themselves and their family. Recently, the team was exposed by an expansive terror network. As this greatly damaged the efficiency of the unit, Rainbow was publicly disbanded.
In late 2006, a new Rainbow team was assembled. While the original team remained incognito as to protect their families, the new Rainbow uses the recognition to provoke fear in their enemies, while the members themselves are anonymous. Rainbow members are essentially erased from history, declared dead, and assigned new identities to prevent attacks on themselves and their families.
In early 2007 Rainbow was assigned the task of aiding survivors in the virtually apocalyptic city of Malton. Despite the predicted high rate of mortality, almost all Rainbow operatives volunteered for the mission. The team was airlifted into the "Green zone" in Malton's northeast sector, and is currently attempting to gain a foothold in the war-torn city.
Status
Rainbow operatives are currently setting up HQ in an undisclosed area in Malton. Due to the high number of casualties during the original insertion, Maj. Jack Angel will be assuming command, and Rainbow will be recruiting.
