Look, i liked this suggestion. The problem with it and the main reason it might be going to fail its because of the AP and how much alcohol you get for a single bottle. Make bottles have doses, each dose giving 2 or 3 drunk levels. Muliply all drunk levels by (some value between 3 and 5), and have a mildly sober level, where you feel little to no effects on how much you have drunk.

My suggestion for this suggestion:

Sober: 0-5 (while sober, drinking still heal)
Mildly Drunk: 6-15
Drunk: 16-40
Tottally Drunk: 41-50 (you lose 1hp per dose drank while in this state)
Deadly Drunk: 51+ (you lose 2hp per dose drank while in this state, chance to die == drunk level)

Kevan could them add new kind of beverages, like vodka, tequila, whiskey and rum, each one with different ammount of doses per bottle and different ammount of drunk levels you get per dose. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 14:53, 27 June 2007 (BST)

Here are the main problems i met when thinking about exact amount of alcohol required to get some level. The bottles should not be separated into doses, because drinking those will cause too much spam. The problem with exact levels of drunkness is right balance between realism and efficiency. It should be realistic (kiling 2 bottles of wine alone in short period of time does serious effect), it should give some bonus to make it not totally useless (i decided it to be +1 to damage), but still be a bit less effective than conventional fighting.--KiT 15:27, 27 June 2007 (BST)
While I am not in the least belittleing your suggestion, It is going to be a comedy suggestion, or used in a comedic way. I love the flavour that you've added but I realy do feel that for the first few drinks people should still gain HP. Also, how about having it so that the bottle has 5 'gulps' In it, as per Hagnat's Idea, I don't think it would cause too much spam, as people could ignore it and would just see Drunkbloke took a gulp of wine......and again......and again.....and again Oh and please, If you haven't yet allow people to see when others have thrown up!--Seventythree 15:31, 27 June 2007 (BST)


I will come up with some beer/wine balencing update soon, and then i'll post a here the explanation of reason of every number in my suggestion (like, why it should take 5 AP to drink bottle of wine, not more or less), to make show that the suggestion is balanced. the problem with the ap thingy is that you are changing something common like drinking a bottle of beer wasting more ap than something complicated than healing someone with a first-aid kit (or performming a surgery with one in a powered hospital). The main problem with doses is balance between beer and wine. If i want beer to still be less alcoholic than wine, i'll have to multiply all the current numeric lvls by 4 again, and this will add unnecessary complexity to the suggestion. Of course you got the point that even with ability to heal first few times, i nerf wine and beer; but i think that no one really drunk them, and so, there's nothing to nerf.--KiT 11:33, 28 June 2007 (BST)
