Suggestion talk:20080828 Randomized Re-Spawn on Standup from Headshot
Good god man, do you know how many times this has been suggested? I'm searching for dupes before you;ve even got it posted. What would be the POINT of zombies joining groups if this were implemented? Swiers 21:10, 27 August 2008 (BST)
Ok I can see this is to address the inability of survivors to hold any single location. It is very unlikely that any place can be taken and held by survivors, making our only option to stay alive, mobility. This would be a viable option if zombies couldn't move just as fast or in most cases faster. With lurching gate their block to block movement is the same however they are completely unhindered by the need to hide, eliminating the search for a suitable safe house which is a huge drain on the survivor AP pool. The random respawn after being headshotted may be a bit extreme but if there was say a 'drag' option or some way to move dead bodies away from just your doorstep so they can just stand up and start the assault anew, that might make it possible for humans to have one safe location in the map. --Thatturkishguy 21:45, 27 August 2008 (BST)
- Survivors do not need a single safe location. What makes them safe is having a strong community, distributed among multiple locations, that can repair the damage done to any one location faster than zombies can manage to find and take out the next location. In other words, hiding (use decoys), barricading, healing, and reviving are what give survivors safety, rather than killing zombies. Swiers 22:32, 27 August 2008 (BST)
