Ankle Bite v2

Timestamp: Reaper with no name 15:30, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Type: Skill
Scope: Zombies
Description: I recently thought of a way to possibly revitalize an old suggestion I had that contained a fatal problem. So, here it is.

Subskill of Infectious Bite Ankle Grab. When a zombie is dead, it has the option of getting up and attacking a survivor with infectious a bite.

Basically, when a zombie is dead, they will have two options: "Stand up", and "Stand up and bite". The first is the same as always, but the second does this and causes the survivor in the area at the top of the stack to have a 35% chance of taking 4 HP damage and becoming infected (if the zombie has infectious bite).

The last version of this I submitted a little while back was automatic, and as a result nerfed revives. Since this one is an option, it doesn't suffer from that problem.

So, is this any better? Or is it still spam-worthy?

Discussion Shouldn't it be a subskill of Ankle Grab? They seem to go together. -Mark 16:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC) The last version of this worked that way, but it wouldn't make sense for a zombie with Infectious bite to bite a survivor and not infect them. It also wouldn't make sense for a zombie without infectious bite to be able to infect a survivor. I'd also rather not have dual pre-requisites unless it becomes clear that enough people would prefer that. I'd also like to keep it as simple as possible, and not have to make the attack only infect if the zombie has infectious bite. But if enough people say they want me to make it that way, I will. --Reaper with no name 22:04, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey, trying to steal my idea? Kidding. I was thinking of something similar. So, this would give a "free" attack then? You didn't say anything about the AP cost.--Pesatyel 02:20, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Sort of, yes. They still have to pay the stand up cost, but the bite itself is free. My reasoning is that if it costs AP then it sort of nerfs the whole idea, since you could just get up and then bite and have the same effect. Fortunately, it'll probably be rare for anyone to actually get hurt by this, since there's not only a high chance the zombie will miss, but also the fact that the survivor has to be there when the zombie does it. --Reaper with no name 14:17, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I dig this. Definitely makes for the flavoriffic "is it dead" lean-in-and-zombie-chomps-your-neck cliche. It makes fighting off an active zed a little more difficult (as they pop up again), which is good - survivors SHOULD be running. I think one prereq (ankle grab) and infectious bite stacks on this attack is appropriate. --RSquared 21:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

All right, made the necessary changes. Now what do you all think? --Reaper with no name 00:14, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

I like it! I'd vote keep on this. I'd make sure you type Reaper's advice in when you suggest it however, otherwise you'll have people howling for an increased AP cost. --Karloth vois RR 00:58, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
