The time is different, the space is the same. It's an eerie cold being bodiless, but it's not from touch. There is a man here.

» He is an example.

The man is hunched over a picture and frame, they are familiar. He writhes and mumbles feverishly, perturbed at the separation. He tries to fit the picture in the frame, but his finger nails always break off, one finger with one nail, until ten is had. With nervous habit, he chews on fingers on which the nails are no longer there, sickly mucus spreading from mouth to finger to stick fallen nails on picture and frame.

» He is one of many examples. A repetition of precedent, something in perpetual existence, a cause for itself and yet is uncaused.

The man pretends to ignore it, but he knows what is coming. He finishes placing the picture in the frame.

» He is a weak example, to be used for the stronger subject.
