MOVE DEEPER INTO FOREST
Walking is awkward. It seems impossible to match your steps with it. One step for you is three or five for the creature, causing you to stumble and its grip on you to reflexivly tighten.
You think you smell your skin burning. In fact, you are sure its fingers will burn through you shoulder. The pain, however, seems somewhat numbed by your fear.
The forest begins to open up. The sunlight has turned the sky a dark red, offering just enough light to paint a small lake before you. The creature stops you here, releasing you.
There is no breeze nor movement on the lake. The water is undisturbed.
The creature shifts behind you. It probably wants you to enter the lake.
