Backstory
Steven Duncan Ames was born August 6th, 1980 in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, he was a social outcast due to his quiet demeanor and unusual taste in music. As he grew older, he started meeting and hanging out with kids who understood him, who understood his underground roots.
One summer after a violent break-up with his girlfriend of three years, he took refuge in The Flying Saucer, a bar in downtown Memphis. There, he met a woman named Jenny Lewis, the lead singer of Rilo kiley, a popular indie rock-and-roll band. They immediately hit it off, and she asked him to be a roadie for the band.
From then on, he toured with Rilo Kiley and continued his whirlwind relationship with Jenny.
However, all good things can't last.
Malton means Tragedy
He knew from the moment he read that the next show was in Malton that things weren't going to turn out well.
As a child, his aunt had lived in Malton and his family had made several trips there on summers and school holidays. Venture sto the creek bed behind his relative's quaint country cottage revealed horrendously mutated creatures. hree eyed rabbits and two-headed frogs, vicious cats and, once, a bat that had to have been the size of a hawk. Yet he continued down the creek bed, wondering what else he could find.
Yet he said nothing to Jenny and the band.
As they checked into their hotel room at the Vallis Motel, a large blast shook the building. Steve ran outside to investigate the problem, and a zombie lunged at his arm, tearing out a large chunk of flesh. Screaming, he picked up a umbrella and shoved it through the zombie's skull.
Holding his arm to stop the bleeding, he ran back upstairs after Jenny. Throwing open the door, his heart dropped as he realized he had come too late. A large male zombie had his teeth dug into his girlfriend's throat, his hands shoved deep into her stomach. Grabbing an emergency fire axe off of the wall, he swung and sunk it deep into the zombie's head.
Jenny was in bad shape.
An security camera videotape of their conversation was recovered upon searching the motel. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in a zombie attack several days later.
It is speculated that he had to kill her.
And so Steve walks on through the wreckage of Malton, trying to find some peace of mind, still bearing his signature smile and sense of humor.
