This is Ulysses Nash Owen, a Necrotech Scientist who time and again has found himself confronting the undead in Malton. I never even fired a gun until my arrival in this place.

Favored clothing: White lab coat and backpack with the necessary weapons, tools, and other useful items needed to stay alive. I prefer jeans and a black shirt with a sweater covering the vest I use to armor myself. I have died a number of times, but fortunately I have almost always been able to locate colleagues to revive me.

It is barbaric what has become of Malton, but in this place you learn things about yourself you never would be able to otherwise. You learn if you are a human who can overcome fear, or if you are but a coward who lets others fight his battles. You see here the best and worst of humanity, and learn to appreciate any allies you find. That is more important to keeping one's humanity than any science breakthrough.

I do wish there was a better way to cure those whose disease has reached their brains. Inviting the enemy into the stronghold is no laughing matter, and requires reflexes to take care of.

My stay in this city has been quite the learning experience, one in which I hope to continue learning from.

Most recently, I have joined a group called the BOW. These people are not only valuable allies, but I count them as friends and comrades in this struggle. Perhaps they can give me insight into what started this plague.

In addition, I have a lot of work to do. I have recently realized that I am a small fish in a very big pond. Both weapons and technology are a huge priority to me now...

There is no time to waste.
