It's funny how there are several people voting negatively because of "people who could get this in a day." Hey dummies, I know it's a tl;dr suggestion, but really, [[CNR]]:

Oh well would you look at that, when you ascend, you become a level one with enough XP to get one skill - presumably 100. As in, all your hoarded XP goes bye-bye. You have to get the 5k all over again to ascend a second time. :Hmmm, that's an excellent point and I must admit that I didn't properly understand the suggestion myself.  I'm still against it for the basic premise that some players will end up with a big advantage over others.  Also, what I really like about UD is that it isn't a level grind - everyone hits their max and then they just keep playing for the joy and tactics.
