I could hear them as they walked across the frozen, remnants of the Rodgers Building. They moved slowly and methodically, scanning the broken, twisted steel frame for any signs of survivors. It wouldn't be long now. No, it wouldn't be long at all.

Occasionally, one would stop, I would hear a series of clicks, and then a long, screeching moan as they destroyed another one. I wanted to do something; I wanted to help. But we were too few in number, and I was too weak and exhausted from a lack of food. All I could do was watch.
