Private Rooney is a member of HAZsquad
As with most of the H.A.Z, he was a rookie Commando before that ill-fated flight over Malton. God only knows why the pilot took them over that restricted airspace, or what went wrong with the transport, but he did, and something, somewhere failed, dumping them into Hell on Earth. After meeting up with the rest of the surviving Squad members, and forming the H.A.Z Squad, he's been forced to adapt and improvise just like the rest of the Squad, in order to survive.
