The Esoteric Order of Dagon

The Esoteric Order of Dagon is a cult devoted to following Dagon, the deep one, rivaled only by the great Cthulhu himself. All feel the urge to chant and revel in their glory. As it is written in the ancient texts, so shall it be. One day, when the stars align, the old ones will arise and take their rightful place as lords of this world.

It is believed that the Order arose when a pair of well-intentioned and heavily intoxicated survivors broke into the Caldecott Library archives, seeking a safe haven against the undead hordes. There they discovered tomes locked away for the good of humanity, ancient prophecies referring to the end of humanity, and records of a now-defunct cult in rural New England. Shortly afterward, they were killed by a pack of feral zombies, only to rise again hours later. This was taken as a sign that the 'strange aeons' spoken of in the insane scribblings of Abdul Alhazrad were indeed upon Malton, and that those who would not perish should ready the way for the coming of the Old Ones.
