Erm, what?
You really screwed up the recruitment page with this edit. In future, make sure that you do not edit old revisions of pages (while looking through the page history, or diff comparisons). There is a large red warning note that comes up when you try to edit these old revisions, so it should be obvious to you that you need to go back and edit the current revision of the page. That edit made a lot of work for someone else, and such carelessness is not appreciated, and may be viewed as vandalism in the future if you fail to take more care now that you have been warned about it <small>-- <span style="color: Red">boxy</span> <span style="color: Red">talk</span> • i 07:48 23 June 2008 (BST)</small>
:I am not a vandal. There was no large red warning message. I don't know HOW to edit it once it has been removed, so it was a lot of work for me also! If our advert had been left as it was then all of this could have been avoided. So now, i have to go through the whole thing again as it has been removed despite being timestamped only yesterday?
:Why not increase the time stamp limit to one month, if not for everyone then at least for the groups who have been here for three years or more and have no intention of disbanding? --T13 13:38, 23 June 2008 (BST)
::Jesus. All you've got to do to insert your recruitment add back into the page is to put the following code in the appropriate place on the page.

DK13's recruitment ad
I just wanted to let you know what's up with your recruitment ad, since the edits you made awhile ago undid quite a lot of other work and were somewhat destructive in nature. The image you guys are using in the ad is a massive 111.5KB, but the recruitment page has a hard limit of 56KB for images in recruitment ads. The quick way to fix it is to simply upload a smaller or more compressed version of the image. Just open the image up in an editor, then save it back out as a .jpg file with slightly lower quality. You should see a major drop in file size for an indiscernible loss in visual quality.

Once you do that, if you look at the code for the page you should see that your advertisement is still there, just like it always has been, but that it's simply been commented out. The code looks like this right now:
<pre><!--2011-07-25 Advert contains an image that is in excess of 56KB

Pay attention moron. I do this wonderful little thing called using the edit summaries when I remove an ad. You'll notice the last time I removed yours was because the timestamp was over 14 days old. I was well within my rights to remove it. Don't like it? Go cry to someone who gives a shit. Whitehouse has had to go through every single edit you fucked up and correct them individually.

If you don't like the 14 day time limit, it's simple, don't use the fucking recruitment page. Everyone else manages to update their timestamps or resubmit their ad, if you're too incompetent to do so, feel free to refrain from editing that page. It is not a requirement to edit the Recruitment page, it is a choice. -- 17:33, 23 June 2008 (BST)
YES. CAPS! THE IMAGE IN QUESTION WAS LAST COMPRESSED ABOUT FOUR YEARS AGO. IT HAS BEEN FINE FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS OR SO ... AND NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN IT IS TOO BIG? THIS IS JUST GETTING BEYOND STUPID NOW!!!!!!!!!! --T13 02:42, 3 August 2011 (BST)

Hey Iscariot ... your a real funny guy!!!!!!!! --T13 13:06, 24 June 2008 (BST)
NB: I have replaced the image with a tiny one which is 6.3K in size. It is fucking tiny, and to be quite honest, not worth having at all, but will hopefully see an end to all this bullshit regarding images that are allegedly too big. Thanks! --T13 02:48, 3 August 2011 (BST)
:I like the new 55.92KB one you put in. It looks better than the older one, and it's bigger to boot, which I think shows off the image better. As for it only being taken down now, eh, what can I say? Some parts of that page aren't enforced very often, but there was a cleanup of all ads that had images that were too large according to the rules of the page, and yours just happened to be one of them. 03:50, 3 August 2011 (BST)

<!--2011-07-25 Advert contains an image that is in excess of 56KB
DELTA KILO ONE THREE: DK13 : PRO SURVIVOR

--T13 12:57, 18 July 2011 (BST)

-->

You have two weeks from the date listed in the comment (2011-07-25) to fix the issue. Once you do, just remove the lines of code starting with <!-- and --> and it should reappear exactly where it was before. Aichon 19:11, 31 July 2011 (BST)

I like the new 55.92KB one you put in. It looks better than the older one, and it's bigger to boot, which I think shows off the image better. As for it only being taken down now, eh, what can I say?
