Description
You are standing outside Hartleys Boulevard Police Dept, an imposing concrete building with pillars along its front.
History
Hartley Boulevard and its police station were named after JR Hartley, author of Fly Fishing, who bought the imposing house with the proceeds from his famous tome. Having wanted to be a policeman in his youth, but failing the physical exam due to his chronic asthma, he bequeathed the house to the Malton police force on his death.
JR Hartley, angler and Malton benefactor
Hartley PD was traditionally used as a police training department. Vinetown's 3 other police departments focussed on street crime, whereas Hartley PD focussed much more on community work, intelligence gathering and white collar crime. As stipulated in Hartley's will, every year a community outreach programme organised an angling trip for local underprivileged youngsters, to give them a taste of the country life JR Hartley loved so much.
Post outbreak, Hartley Blvd PD was the first Police department to fall to the zombies. Its inexperienced officers tried taking the fight to the zombies on the street and were for the most part butchered, swelling the zombies' number and making a difficult situation even worse.
