Not to be confused with the 2009 Ridleybank Reclaimation Army.
Ridleybank Reclamation Army
The RRA is now over. Thanks to everyone who participated, protester and oppressor alike. For all future survivor reclamation coalitions, see the bottom of this page for a checklist of mistakes to avoid that we learned the hard way.
The RRF, once a symbol of anti-establishmentarian resistance, has become an oppressor, hurting innocent, helpless survivors with their greedy, extortionate rents (an arm and a leg-the savages!), and their low-quality, slipshod, and aggressively inferior barricade plans. They are no longer a resistance, and with their aggressive expansionist imperialism and exploitation of other peoples, are no longer worthy of the Ridleybank title.
The RRA is a sensible survivor coalition which protests the unwarranted use of force by the Ridleybank Resistance Front and aims to re-educate and protest the oppressor RRF with our bullet-like pamphlets, shotgunblast-like petitions and axe-shaped protest signs.
We are the ONE TRUE Resistance of Ridleybank. Join us and free Malton from the hypocritically named menace today!

Demands
We will relent only once the RRF has met our demands!
-The RRF must surrender all their base to the RRA.
-The RRF, no longer being a resistance nor limited to Ridleybank, must change its name to the more truthful Malton Oppression Front.
-The RRF must admit that Barhah is SO 2009 and that Survivhah is the new wave.
-The RRF's undead members must take the eco-friendly route and switch to eating papaya, soy burgers and leafy greens.
-The RRF's living members must also take the eco-friendly route and switch to eating lead and knuckle sandwich (demand already met).
-Gore Corpse must receive wedgies and dutch rubs from every member of the RRA.
-The RRF must shove off.
-The RRA must become totally badass and generally superior to the RRF. (demand already met)
History
- March 21st
The AZS begins plotting a course for Ridleybank. They gather allies and form the kick-ass alliance known as the RRA and form an ingenious battle plan.
- April 1st
The RRA righteously and discreetly enters Ridleybank.
- April 2nd
The RRA justly converges around Blackmore NT and justly prepares for the just liberation of Ridleybank- for justice. And the battle for justice rages on!
- April 4th
The Blackmore is captured and fortified by RRA commandos. Hijinks ensue. The RRF launches an immediate counterattack.
The RRA manages to light up the Blackmore for a few hours, essentially giving the RRF the collective finger.
- April 5th
The Blackmore falls to RRF oppression forces. RRA forces regroup and continue the struggle for freedom and justice.
- April 8th
The RRA and RRF skirmish over bits and pieces of RRF, both sides solidly holding various TRPs. The RRA braces for the storm ahead.
- April 12th
All quiet on the northern front. The RRF seems to be withholding their whirlwind from the RRA. The RRA digs in further and prepares to counter attack.
- April 17th
The RRA manages to secure a number of Ridleybank's TRPs. The Malton Oppression Front's Department of Homeland Security begins to counterattack. About time, guys.
Lessons Learned by the RRA
Tips for future multi-group survivor invasions of zed territory and to avoid unnecessary mistakes.
Preinvasion
- Syringes are your best friend. No doubt about it. Have truckloads of syringes on hand before entering the place, and rapidly revive everyone non-suspicious. Syringes are the key to victory. Second to syringes in importance are toolboxes. Have everyone who is not already loaded with ammo to pack a toolbox. (power gennies are obviously useless)
- Solicit groups like hell. Have multiple coalition members post on Brainstock, Beerhah, Resensitized and the wiki, talk to people in-game in crowded people, post on .... you'll need all the help you can get. At least 20 people is a must, or you'll get nothing done. And be sure to continue expanding your numbers even as you wrap up the event.
- Have multiple people in charge the whole thing. I made the mistake of taking a vacation during spring break while being the primary group planner, so the RRA stagnated somewhat then. Delegating tasks is the key.
- The element of surprise is fairly difficult to maintain, but can delay a devastating counterattack by a few days. So don't post in public areas like the wiki or major forums where your enemy can see information and invitations (PMing is of course, perfectly fine).
- Don't invite bounty hunter-only groups unless you're absolutely positive that PKers (not revived zombies, but actual PKers) are going to show up or already have shown up.
- Baby steps. It's a tall order to simply state, "We're going to reclaim X suburb", because most of your member groups won't have much idea of what to do and their focus may drift when trying to fulfill this vague, difficult. It's far more effective to constantly issue out small goals and orders (ie., "reclaim this building", "revive at this revive point", "reinforce this building cluster" "take this player out of the equation"). It is labor intensive, but hey, you didn't start a survivor invasion to kick back and relax, right?
- Assign recon to one or two members and have them devote all their APs to scouting. This is vital. It doesn't matter whether it's traditional survivor visual inspection or using scent death/feeding groan eavesdropping as a zombie, have a select few recon people, and have them post daily which areas need help and where particularly important PKers were found.
During the combat
- Dam Tactics simply do not work on high-profile buildings unless you outnumber the zeds. Period.
- Whoever is leading the group: Nag the hell out of your allies. You need to keep them up to date and to make sure they don't quit on you. Not naming names, but we did have problems with a few people not keeping up on the coalition forum.
- Raids- raids are essential to morale and time efficiency. Have one simultaneous raid daily for as many survivors as possible, with follow-up waves for those who can't make it. Multiple raids are really hard to coordinate unless you have an X:00 system like the RRA and the MOB do.
- Do not be afraid to run away. Nearby malls can get you a lot of ammo in two days, more than an unlit in-suburb PD could. And when you have ammo, you can successfully retake zombie-infested TRPs.
- Talk to the opposition zombie group often (don't be rude, though, it's bad business). It establishes a sense of unity among your own group (the us-versus-them mentality) and provides a sense of competition when you chat with the enemy.
- Demoralize the enemy, but without being assholes. Headshot their leaders, reclaim their headquarters (even if only for a few hours), spraypaint boastful comments on reclaimed buildings and scan zombies to poke fun at their names and profiles. Going any further than that is asking for it and is going to turn off other survivor groups.
- Watch out for spies. Most major zombie groups are fair players, but there may be ferals/loners, rebellious members, or unethical groups who want your precious intel and are willing to lie their way into your trust. So watch your back and just invite major groups and trustworthy small groups, not individual players or small groups who you know little about.
- Finally most important of all, do it all for the lulz. You're not going to get very far if you do it purely to win, because you will be discouraged by setbacks. You shouldn't be. Take the setbacks in stride, laugh through both defeat and victory and remember that this is a game. Have fun.
