A dozen or so pages are flipped. Four of them should be looked at for the second time. One of the pages was about a cavern, another about knowing, and another about permutations and cycles. There was another page about narration.

> Read about 'a cavern'

It reads chronologically as the first thing you should read, though it does not read as the first thing that was written.

I was portrayed as having woken up in a cavern that was described as being cavernous. Something was lighting the area except to what felt to be the north, west, and east; but to the south, and slightly south west, there was more light.

I assumed the light was a bad thing, so I moved to the darker regions, and found myself no more able than to reach perhaps a few meters from the direction I came, no matter how far I moved or how the stone floor varied beneath my feet.

So I went south, following the lit areas, and found a body that I thought a shadow. The only option appeared as the incentive to take the kitchen knife the body had, which I did.

I kept going south, and the cavern turned inside-out, and I was standing on a street in some city, very much the leftovers of some disaster long ago.

Someone was standing further down the street, and I already wanted to question them about everything. I felt embarrassed to approach him or her. Apparently I had no clothes.
