The Dark Brotherhood

Non-Point of View Statement The Dark Brotherhood is a player-killer group open to anyone willing and able. They will kill at their own discretion, paying little heed to group affiliation. The Dark Brotherhood We are a group of assassins who have existed for millions of years. We kill to send the souls of the living to our Dread Father, Sithis. We have existed because man has allowed us to exist. We have existed by following the Five Tenets. When we follow the Five Tenets then it is hard for others to know of our existence definitely. Sithis Has Commanded it The Dark Brotherhood is an every evolving, ever changing group. We change because our Dread Father is change. His existence alters the way of man and so we must change as well. We do keep some things traditional though. A knife or ax are the traditional weapons to end the life of a victim. Guns are just tools to help the process along. Dark Brothers and Sisters Killers, murderers, assassins. We are known by many names but all from the point of view of the unenlightened. Those most call survivors just cannot see the truth. Sithis is change, and his very existence alters the stasis of man. Sithis is the creator as well as the void. Souls must be sent to the feet of Sithis to keep him appeased. Malton is a never ending outlet of souls. When one dies their soul is released. In Malton many die only to stand up again. So in turn they must have another soul which can again leave the body. We Dark Brothers and Sisters, sons and daughters of Sithis, must continue to appease Sithis. Five Tenets The Five Tenets are the rules and guidelines every Dark Brother or Sister must follow. The Five Tenets have been put into place to keep the Dark Brotherhood a secret for millions of years. We have gone through extreme measures to make sure the Brotherhood remains hidden from the local populace and to protect it from government officials who wish to destroy us. To break even one of the Five Tenets is to invoke the wrath of Sithis. Flattery In The Sincerest Form It is often said that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" so I have to give credit where it is owed. I imitated this layout from Burning chiton. Souls Claimed For Sithis + The Five Tenets

  1. Never dishonor the Dread Father. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.
  2. Never betray the Dark Brotherhood or its secrets. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.
  3. Never violate a victim of the Dark Brotherhood. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.
  4. Never cheat to claim a life for the Dark Brotherhood. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.
  5. Never kill a Dark Brother or Sister. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.

The GEARS worship a figure named KLOK and even kill in his name. Every GEAR is branded with the groups symbol and the number in which they joined, making them a part of the GEARS forever. Every GEAR has to have overcome the fear of mortality and committed themselves to the life of a PKer. Every PKer who wishes to join must do the ancient ceremony and recite the ancient passage. KLOK KLOK is the worshiped figure from a forgotten age from the GEARS history. The GEARS are an ancient group being recorded as already largely active when history was starting to be recorded. No one except the members of GEARS knows anything about KLOK or if KLOK was an actual person, a God, or the founder of GEARS. The GEARS have always killed people, whether it is for ritualistic purposes or on a savage murder spree. THE ANCIENT RITUAL Every GEAR must go through the Ancient Ritual to become a member of the GEARS. The Ancient Ritual is that of a sacrificing of a survivor and reciting the Ancient Passage: I am a GEAR in the wheel of KLOK. I fear not my mortality. One must take record this Ritual and also have it reported to the Rogues Gallery. After that then the PKer will be accepted into the ranks of the GEARS.
