Description
A modern but generic brick building, typical of a late twentieth century public library. The library has been largely ignored by looters and most of the collection is still intact. The fireplace in the reading lounge does bear evidence that some of the less appreciated books have been used for fuel.
Cogle Library is the only library in the suburb of Brooksville. Located near the south central border of the suburb it can be found at the coordinates [33,68].
History
Cogle public library was part of a community educational complex that included the McCreadie Avenue School to the southeast, the Burrows Museum two blocks to the east and centering around the administrative offices in the Piele Building. The buildings were heavily used by the lower income families that lived in and around this rather industrial neighborhood.
