| Please keep your [http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php?title=Suggestions_Dos_and_Do_Nots&diff=988860&oldid=988513 POV] off of these pages, especially when you're doing something like that. If you think that's true discuss such a thing on the talk page, don't make multiple edits to try and justify your beliefs in an article meant to be based off of the communities consensus. Also, many of your edits additions were just plain wrong for varius reasons, for example shotguns and pistols, not rare, there are only about three things in the game easier to find than guns and gun ammo.--<small>[[User:Karek|Karek]]<font face="Monotype Corsiva">[[User:Karek/ProjDev/OmegaMap|maps?!]]</font></small> 09:42, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

| ==RE: How do you make a signature?==
| |
| As a response to your question on the race's talk page, all you gotta do is make a sig page (ie [[User:BoboTalkClown/Sig]])). Put whatever the hell you want on that sig of yours (colors, font size, whatever...). Just make sure to have a link to your user page. Then, do you see the "my preferences" link at the top right corner? Next to the link to your talk? Click it. In the nickname field, put in <nowiki>{{SUBST:Nosubst|YOUR SIG PAGE NAME HERE}}</nowiki>. Check off the box marked "Raw signatures" and save. Test it out in a sandbox, or your user page. And that's really all there is to it. --{{User:Axe Hack/Sig}} 01:13, 29 September 2007 (BST)

|
| |
| ===Food===
| |
| Food supplies in the city have become scare and now survivors need to find sustenance. Food would be an item that could be found in most places: bars, hotels, barracks, school cafeterias, resturaunts at ground level, and of course, mall supermarkets. It is normally found in bulk, say "A box of soup cans" or "A large bag of jerky". It isn't used in your inventory but rather placed in buildings like generators or transmitters. So you might see in a building: "Several boxes of granola bars, a box of canned spinach, a large bag of popcorn have been piled here." There is a limit of 20 units of food per block.
| |
|
| |
| A survivor needs to eat something within 150AP they spend or they become starved. Being starved reduces your maximum HP by 1 every 10 AP. If there is food in the building you're in, you would have an "eat" button. Also, if you are carrying food, you can use the eat button. Food has an encuberance of 20%, so it takes up space to carry it around. This gets rid of any starvation you have, but depletes part of one item of food. So in the building description a "unopened bag of jerky" might become "an opened bag of jerky" then "a mostly full bag of jerky" then "a half empty bag of jerky" then "a mostly empty bag of jerky" then it would vanish.
| |
|
| |
|
| |
| ===Scouting===
| |
|
| |
| There will be a skill called Scouting.
| |
|
| |
| When at a monument or billboard you would be able to use binoculars as in tall buildings. In addition to giving you the map view it would display this message:
| |
|
| |
| <b>You climb to the top of the monument, look through your binoculars and come down before you lose your grip.</b>
| |
|
| |
| I suggest we replace a quater of all wasteland with "Construction Sites" These would be fenced off, no doors but barricadable, like Junkyards.
| |
|
| |
|
| |
| Items found here could be-
| |
|
| |
| Length Of Pipe- 5% search rate
| |
|
| |
| Flak Jacket- 3% search rate (safety gear)
| |
|
| |
| Knife - 2% search rate (Tool of some sort)
| |
|
| |
| Beer- 2% search rate
| |
|
| |
| Fuel Cans- 2% search rate
| |
|
| |
| Cell phones- 1% search rate
| |
|
| |
|
| |
| These would be ransackable, with flavour being something like: "''You smash at the controls of a'' '''crane/heavy lifter'''. ''It creaks loudly and drops a load of'' '''debris/bricks/cement''' ''onto the construction site.''
| |
|
| |
| These would be free runnable, and count as Tall Buildings. This would also be an excellent place for the PR weapon [[PR_Weapon#Chainsaws|chainsaws]] if they were implemented.
| |
|
| |
| ----
| |
|
| |
| Survivors carrying a fuel can and a flare gun have the ability to set themselves on fire. Possession of these two items would create a new action button, "self-immolate". Pressing this button would bring up a "Are you sure you want to set yourself on fire? Doing so will kill you. Press the self-immolate button again if you're serious" prompt (similar to jumping out a window). Pressing the button twice will cause you to pour the gasoline over yourself then shoot yourself with the flare gun, setting yourself on fire. This is immedietely fatal.
| |
|
| |
| Self-Immolation costs 1 AP, and has the follow effects:
| |
| * It kills you.
| |
| * It uses up 1 fuel can and 1 flare gun.
| |
| * It lets all nearby survivors know you've just set yourself on fire. (i.e. ''SmartyMart doses himself with gasoline, then sets himself ablaze'').
| |
| * It automatically deposits your corpse outside the building. This is rationalized as you running outside the building in your last crazed spasms of pain. (This is to prevent the "death abuse to circumvent barricades" problem).
| |
|
| |
| I see this as an alternative means of suicide if you want to be a zombie but can't find a convenient window nearby. It's also a way to make one hell of a statement to nearby survivors (for added effect, the self-immolatee can shout out a few last words or a political message before doing the deed). Depositing the corpse outside the building will prevent folks from killing themselves then automatically standing up as a zombie inside a safehouse.
| |
|
| |
| During a siege, combat-revived zombies could also step outside and do this in the middle of the horde as some kind of morale booster, I suppose.
| |
|
| |
| P.S. yes, this is pretty freakin' dark, but the game already lets you hurl yourself out an open window.
| |
|
| |
| ----
| |
|
| |
| This consists of two similar skills – one for Humans and one for Zombies. I will discuss the Human version, but the Zombie version would work the same way. When a player takes the Adrenaline Rush skill, they would get 5 Adrenaline points. At any time (except when their AP is at zero) they can click the Adrenaline button and it would convert one Adrenaline point into an AP, which can then be used as normal. Adrenaline points are restored at 1 point per hour (versus 1 AP per half hour). Until your Adrenaline points are back up to 5, you will not gain any new AP.
| |
|
| |
| The idea is that you are down to your last few AP, and step into a “safe” building, only to find it full of Zombies. The Adrenaline kicks in and allows you to get away, but the extra effort incurs a penalty – longer time to recover.
| |
|
| |
| The Zombie Surge skill would work the same way, but it would be a skill that a Zombie could take.
| |
|
| |
| One important point – like items, the Adrenaline button would be in the item area. If you let your AP go to zero (and therefore your item buttons are unavailable) then you will not have access to the Adrenaline button for a half hour. If you use up all your AP and Adrenaline, it would be 5 hours before you would be able to do anything (you totally burnt yourself out).
