At it's height of popularity during the 70's, Club Beauchamp was the best club for miles around. Hundreds of Malton's social elite would pack the various rooms on a friday night and dance from dusk til dawn including the infamous Lord Pitman.

Some of it's main attractions were the talk of town, but sadly due to looting and ransacking are no longer or are shadows of their former glory.

• In the main reception hall there was a diamond encrusted chandelier which at night glittered hypnotically in the guilded hallway.

• The ballroom had Malton's biggest mirror ball and also one of Malton's last neumatic organs.

• The 'Green Room' was the sanctuary for the rich and had all the latest creature comforts for when the lords and ladies had had enough.

• The 'Super Comfy Cusion Lounge' , the name says it all. Once the employees found the body of a drunk reveler (a Mr Crispin O'Paige) who went missing on the rooms opening night, he'd burrowed down through the ten deep layer of pillows and subsequently suffocated.

And the clubs most famous room...

• Le Stad de Piste - Possibly the most oppulent toilets ever created. The designer, Mr Benta Albert based his creation on the facilities he once saw on a rare visit to Pitman Mansion, he was never quite happy with the finished article and in a fit of rage murdered a guest and hung himself from a urinal cistern.

Since the outbreak, the club has become a meeting place for all manner of people, it reminds people of a by-gone age before the terror, all the rooms are littered with either the remains of the dead or broken instruments and chairs. All that was of value was stripped out in the early days of the outbreak.

Survivors report that on some nights you can still hear the laughter and music from the ballroom and the clinking of wine glasses from the 'Green room' .

A sad end to such a great place.
