The Brotherhood of Steel is a techno-religious organization, with roots in the US military and government-sponsored scientific community. The ranks of the BOS is generally recognized as being composed of humanity's best and brightest... which means it is a really small organization.
Overview
The Brotherhood are generally good guys, but they have their faults as they don't care for zombies and worship technology feverishly.
They believe that technology presents the only chance for final victory over the zombie hordes. To that end, the Brotherhood takes particular interest in the defense of NecroTech buildings.
Unlike the chivalrous knights of old, members of the Brotherhood are not interested in justice for the obviously weaker and less fortunate around them. Their motives are often unclear, and Brotherhood members are not people to be trifled with. If a group of Brotherhood knights appears to be helping some less fortunate people, their motives may not be altogether altruistic.
