General Infomation
The Heward Arms is one of three pubs in the suburb of Miltown. It is an old style Inn with Ivy covered frontage and a neat family garden in the rear.
Before the Outbreak The Heward Arms was a popular suburban location that was well known for its quality daytime and evening menu. It attracted family and business clientelle from across south eastern Malton.
It lived a double life for a while though.
The owner, one Alexander Gryffen, officially closed the the Heward Arms at 10pm each night. Beyond this point the pub changed. Bright neons hidden within the Ivy came to life and the sign over the door was highlighted by a Darklight - exposing the shady alter-ego of the Heward...'The Cuban'.
'The Cuban' catered for all manner of people, well all manner of people looking for something frowned upon by normal society. Pleasures from every side of the fence were available for the delictation of the patrons. The nearby University Hospital in the Fliney Building supplied delicious cocktails and 'willing' subjects in exchange for a share of the profits (used to fund its less advertisable experiments).
Even though some of the cream of the upper echelons of Malton society graced its doors, none of them stepped forward to intervene when the official investigation began. 'The Cuban' finally closed its doors when Alex Gryffen mysteriously disappeared just prior to a fire that devastated the area (spreading North Westwards to raze a local elementary school as well).
The Heward Arms was restored to its original form, but didn't managed to officially reopen before the Outbreak started.
