Lieutenant General Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov (Russian: Михаи́л Тимофе́евич Кала́шников, Mihail Timofeevič Kalašnikov) (born November 10, 1919 in Russia's southern Altai region) is a Russian small arms designer, most famous for designing the AK-47 assault rifle.  Traveled to Malton, after becoming stricken with guilt and sadness when his namesake became an icon of terrorism, in an effort to redeem the glory that his rifle once had.

After his arrival Kalashnikov told Malton Television News Network, "I've always wanted to improve and expand on the good name of my weapon by doing good things. So immediately after learning about the outbreak in Malton I grabbed my AK and got on the next flight out of Izhevsk." However Kalashnikov could not travel with ammuntion and figured he would pick up a case or two when he arrived.  Little did he know Malton city council banned assault rifles within city limits after the Kinch Heights massacre in 1998.  So he set out into the zombie-ridden city having to settle for generic shotguns and pistols found throughout.
