Kurt Cocaine was born in Los Angeles, and after a violent series of events, found himself in Malton.

Crime Spree and Arrest

Somewhere in Kurt's teen years, he decided to fight against crime and injustice. He manifested his hatred of crime by forming a vigilante group, before it was shut down by the police. He then turned to violence, and this led to the murders of countless drug dealers, gang members, and corrupt police officers. The only charge he was ever successfully charged with was one count of importing explosives into the United States, and two counts of conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism. Kurt was arrested during a raid on a small time arms dealer's hideout, and his computer history implied there were specific targets for the explosives.

Co-conspirator Israeli immigrant Uzi Peled fled the United States, at Kurt's request, when he called him after being arrested. During his trial, in which he plead 'not guilty', he had attempted to escape numerous times, including jumping from the third story window. He was eventually found guilty, and during his sentencing, he was asked why he warned Peled to flee, and stated that Peled was indeed the rogue Mossad agent the U.S. government suspected Peled of being. "I told him that I was already caught, and the courts would send him to his death at the hands of the pissed-off Israelis."

He was sentenced to life without parole in prison, and was imprisoned in a Los Angeles maximum security facility.

2005 Prison Transfer

Kurt was noted to be a model prisoner, and volunteered at the prison hospital and chapel. He was eventually transferred to a prison in Austin, Texas, but his prison bus passed through Malton during the beginning of the outbreak. The guards made the decision to let the prisoners loose, rather than let them die on the bus. Kurt never saw any of the guards or prisoners again.
