Zombies frequently check inside. Portable Generators have a use other than powering the lights and increasing search probability in hospitals. Players with the Surgery Skill can heal for 15 HP if the Hospital has a fueled up Generator. Hospitals are listed as Tactical Resource Points. Hospitals can be barricaded normally. Among the internal descriptions found in Hospitals: "...its wards and corridors blackened with the soot of a recent fire" "...its empty wards criss-crossed with snapped quarantine tape." "...one of the city's psychiatric hospitals." "...dark corridors leading through abandoned wards." "...its emergency room in disarray." "...its lobby covered with quarantine posters." You are standing outside St Joachim's Hospital, a narrow grey-stone building with black crosses painted across its doors.

Description

Before the zombie infestation, St. Joachim's served primarily as a maternity hospital. It was founded in the late Victorian era by a pious man whose wife and son had died in childbirth; he named the hospital after the patron saint of fathers. The hospital is notable as being the first to be evacuated after the infestation and it lay empty for quite a while, overlooked by zombies and survivors alike. It was only after Woodroffe Mall began to attract attention from the zombie hoards that the tactical significance of the hospital was realised: it is the closest hospital to Woodroffe. As such, St. Joachim's has been staffed by various survivor groups - The PDEOU, the Outbreak Control Unit and now Tollyton Medicare.

July 2011 July 29th 2011-- Zed all over hospital...totally ransacked....generator destroyed, looks like the radtrans is too. Survivors are here and there in the EHB building surrounding it. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REBUILD TILL HORDE LEAVES.
