He received a BA in History and the Classics from Trinity College before moving to the United States. He later earned an MA in Mediterranean Ancient History from Yale University, where he captained the school's pistol team, and proceeded to earn his PhD in Roman military history, writing his thesis on the early development of Roman military deployment. After teaching at several smaller institutions, he was offered a position teaching history at Miskatonic University, and had just gotten settled when the initial outbreak occurred. Recent Activities: After joining the Knights and rising through the ranks during the War for the Malton College of Medicine, William, having taken the initials of WR and the title of Praetor, or "judge," William spends his time as a Philosophe primarily training new Knights, offering the occasional lesson upon the streets and spending time observing the comings and goings at Nichols Avenue.
