At the time of the outbreak, Kevin Cox was a young police officer who just transferred to the city, bringing a combination of idealism and sarcasm and got him through the early days of the outbreak. (Any resemblance to Leon Kennedy is a mere coincidence)

He quickly took up residence at Club Frankland as it's steward for several months, maintaining it as a welcoming entry point for survivors, (Any resemblance to Rick Blaine is a coincidence) but after one too many attacks on the area, he left searching for a role with more meaning.

After a brief and positive association with the Shoemakers, he met up with an old friend, Odd Bob, who he shared a colourful history with. Along with Bob he joined The Malton Zookeepers, mucked out the jellyfish tan and the rest is history.

Starting as a lowly member of vet services, occasionally attached to other departments, he quickly became recognised as the Zoo's Maverick Vet (Any resemblance to Lt. Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell is a coincidence).

His hard work soon showed he was totally unsuitable for a career in the maintenance department, so he quickly rose to become deputy head, and then Director of the Events and Entertainment department, coordinating many of the Zoos special events including The Telethon, Three Hootenannys, Malton Zoo Radio broadcasts and much more. (Ant resemblance to... ah, never mind).
