St. Anastasius's Church (Raines Hills)

St. Anastasius's Church is a single block Church in Raines Hills

Description

A humbly decorated Church with stone carvings befitting a Cathedral. A shrine stone marks the the seat and eventual resting place of the much loved Priest Anastasius Maradictus between the years 1532-1601. It is written that he saved more people than lived in his parish and that children who were named after him were more scholarly than their peers -- though many joke that they'd have to be to pronounce their own names. He lies buried on the premises and some speculate he might be entombed beneath the Church's altar. His brother Athanasius was also a member of the clergy, who presided over his parish to the south, now known as St. Athanasius's Church (Raines Hills). --Father Bigley 21:30, 9 October 2007 (BST)
