Blaxall Library

Description

An ancient, imposing building, whose door seems taller than the walls it is set in. Its facade is of stone, strangely unmarred by the passage of time. Upon looking at this imposing building, one finds oneself wondering just how it is that this disturbing library remained open, as it is almost uncomfortable to look at.

History

One of the oldest buildings in Malton still in regular use in Malton before the fall, Blaxall library became famous for its collection of occult works. It served as a general library on the surface, but the basement archives contained material from around the world on witchcraft, dark rites, and old gods the world had forgotten. It seems as though interest in these has risen in these dark times, however, as some survivors break their way into the old vaults, pulling forth papers to call upon forces in lieu of prayer, believing they have been forsaken by their old god. Cults have made this a place of pilgrimage, and always strive to keep those lower levels locked and secure, now only allowing the true believers entrance.
