Welcome to The Crimson Clan wiki pages. This front page is made primarily for giving a brief introduction to us, and for recruitment information. If you're looking for more specific information, please have a look on the above subpages navigator.
Who are we?
The Crimson Clan is a survivor group, based in and around the suburb of Havercroft in central Malton. The Clan has declared the area surrounding Ackland Mall its domain, and intends to make life difficult for the local PKers and ferals. Due to the varying numbers of prey in central Clan domain, some squads are occasionally seen far into hostile territory.
We are divided into three divisions - the Marines, Home Guard, and Militia. The different divisions are organized very differently to work as efficiently as possible. Our doctors and NecroTechies are able to provide revives and heals whenever needed, while our soldiers bring swift death to the infected or corrupted.
The Crimson Clan has an official radio frequency of 27.50 MHz, and a forum for communications. Many Clan members make use of X:00 tactics.
Both veterans and newbies are welcome to join our ranks.
An old photo taken back in the days when the Clan was based in the extreme North Western Malton. A hidden camera immortalizes the IWM leader Duce Nauks outside Gerrard Place PD in Roywood, moments before he triggers a trap developed by NTa Fippe and NTa William of the Clan's now non-existent Pask Team.
Why join us?
- If you're new to the game, we'll help you become a high-level player through our Boot Camp.
- If you're already a veteran, you'll get to play Urban Dead in a new way, in co-operation with many other players.
- Our numbers are constantly rising. Not so very long ago, we were only a small, non-influential group. Now, The Crimson Clan is one of the more powerful groups in Malton.
As a Militia member
- Very little metagaming: If you don't like forums, the Militia is the place for you.
- No officers: Do whatever you want to, as long as it kinda benefits the Clan.
- But still: You are part of a great survivor group, you have the opportunity to participate in competitions and operations, you have a "hometown", you have other players watching your barricades while you sleep, and you'll learn of the zombie hordes approaching before they strike. Also, don't forget to carry a radio tuned to 27.50 MHz!
As a Home Guard
- Sometimes orders, sometimes not: In times of peace, you're free to do whatever you want to.
- Metagaming: You don't need to check the forums more every 2-3 days, although of course, you're free to be more active as you wish.
- Join Clan competitions: Every now and then, competitions are held in the Clan. Last year, we held a Bounty-hunting competition, and ended up with joint winners - Mr Leon & LK Oddjob, who both well earned the titles 'Crimson Assassin'. This is just one of our range of games & competitions, organised by our Entertainments Adviser.
As a Marine
- Take a challenge: We expect you to become one of the finest and most disciplined soldiers in Malton.
- See Malton: The Marines are not only stationed in the Clan domain, but are also sent on missions far into hostile territory.
- Bounty hunting: A major part of the life as a Marine is spent hunting PKers and zed spies.
- X:00 tactics: Several players logging on at the same time means a good opportunity for cooperation, plus a devastating effect in combat.
- Meet new friends: The close cooperation of the Marines gives you the opportunity to make new friends.
NB - If you would like to join us, post a link to your UD profile here, and change your UD profile group tag to The Crimson Clan. New members default to Militia assignment. You may apply for Home Guard / Marine assignment though you will have to be member for a week or more first.
General news

- I (Jsrbrunty) have been commander now for about 2 weeks, and my term is coming to an end (remember, I was only finishing off Father_Alexander's term). On March 1st, election nominations start so if you think X would be a good commander, then don't forget to nominate him/her. At the moment, the Clan is in Ridleybank on a mission to recapture the suburb. We are doing very well, even if I do say so myself! There are few ruined buildings now in the area we're working on (the area around Blackmore), & we have rejoiced recently, as we captured Blackmore itself a couple of days ago and have so far held it. The RRF are, of course, mounting outside, but we hope to keep them outside for some time yet. Ackland is ruined at the moment, after yet another succession of sieges, so this trip to Ridleybank is a welcome break for many of us. Our group numbers are around the mid-30s at the moment. --Jsrbrunty 22:23, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

- Our new forums are here: www.z8.invisionfree.com/thecrimsonclan. I am now commander, for the moment anyway, following Father Alexander's resignation. I aim to bring everything back under control & calm everyone down. Our current membership stats are at about 40 members, a high of several months; however Ackland Mall has just fallen again, and we've retreated to a more secure suburb, shortly to go on a li'l break to assist some allies. Good luck, fellow Clannies! --Jsrbrunty 16:01, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

- Following the schism caused by St Aden's attempted coup, the clan is now rebuilding, with membeship higher than it's been for several months. We hope that all the controversy is behind us now, and that we can carry on our pro-survival work. LK Oddjob 20:50, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

- The Clan is currently doing a tour of its domain, particularly the outer suburbs which we haven't visited in some time. For instance, Ketchelbank. In other news, nothing much thrilling going on. Ackland is still ruined, but the zeds are gradually going away. Once the tour of our territory has finished, the Clan hopes to retake it with minimum fuss, and hopefully hold it for a while. A few weeks ago, treasured Boot Camp Lieutenant, Jsrbrunty, stood down. The Clan had a day of national mourning. Well, not quite. lol I'm now chilling with Alpha (Home Guard). Clan numbers are presently rather up-and-down, generally between 30 and 40. A steady trickle of recruits are coming in, but not a huge number. Ex-Commander St Aden has also returned to the game, and is serving in Alpha. I'm sure everyone is very glad to see him back. --Jsrbrunty 17:39, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
