The Preston Arms Wiki Page

Hi Pamela, it's vapor. That guy from CORAM that sometimes comes and hangs out in your pub. I notice you've been working on the Preston Arms wiki page lately. I know this will probably sound like a bunch of bureaucratic BS but the page you're editing is actually a locations page. Those pages should be kept in a Neutral Point of View (NPOV). I think what you need is a group page. Now I know that might be difficult to pull off since you're group name is also The Preston Arms. Anyway, since I like you guys, I'm offering to help in creating a group page for you, and then setting up what is called a Diambiguation Page.

If you're completely against this idea, let me know. I don't think too many people will mind if you keep your group related article on the locations page. Some on the wiki are kind of bureaucratic that way, though. ~Vsig.png 18:55, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I would say just make a disambiguation page. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:01, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

What appears to be the problem here. We have had that page up a year now, where Preston huge arms and I wrote it and edited it many times.I will be seeking administration clarification on the issue. [1]Catchy

Yeah it just managed to slip under the radar for a while now. There's many different types of pages on the wiki. Group pages and Location Pages are amongst them. Articles on Location Pages (and suburb pages) are generally expected to be kept NPOV, while group pages can be as biased and un-neutral as you want (see The Coram Building and CORAM for an example of this).
Where disambiguation comes in is that your group name happens to be the same as the location. Disambiguation allows for 2 pages to have the same name. So you'd have Preston Arms the location page and Preston Arms the group page. We would just copy everything from the current page onto a new page and make the current page a regular location page. ~Vsig.png 22:45, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Ok, that sounds fair enough. we would be grateful for any help in copying the thread. Thanks and be sure to drop in for a pint or three sometime soon. --CatchyMonkey 18:42, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
