- A Brief History: Born and raised in Dublin, Reynalds developed an interest in history and classical literature at an early age. He received a BA in History and the Classics from Trinity College before moving to the United States. He later earned an MA in Mediterranean Ancient History from Yale University, where he captained the school's pistol team, and proceeded to earn his PhD in Roman military history, writing his thesis on the early development of Roman military deployment. After teaching at several smaller institutions, he was offered a position teaching history at Miskatonic University, and had just gotten settled when the initial outbreak occurred.
