Introduction
Barhah and welcome! I am Chronolith, generally recognized as the founder and leader of the Shacknews Horde. Though to be honest, that's a bit misleading: another one of our Horde generals, ZeroDPX, had been organizing coordinated raids several days before I started helping him out. In truth, my main contribution has been to formalize the raiding process: when & where we strike each night, what kind of strategy to use during our attacks, and what skills to buy with our XP afterwards. I've also helped establish an effective means of communicating this information to our raiders on a daily basis. Of course, there's no way I'd be able to do all this by myself: there are two other Horde generals who help organize and conduct raids, and we have a corps of human intelligence officers who provide us with the information our generals require for planning raids.
About The Shacknews Horde
At the height of its power, the Shacknews Horde was the largest zombie group in the city of Malton. Regardless of size, we are certainly the most feared of all zombie groups, for the simple reason that we conduct massive organized strikes against well-fortified targets. When we're in full siege mode, over 200 Horde raiders are capable of striking within a two-minute window of time. Our strikes are so powerful, even the Urban Dead server has a hard time dealing with it: if the Urban Dead server seems a bit sluggish, a Shacknews Horde raid may have just begun. In addition, we have forged an extensive network of alliances with other groups, both zombie and human. Finally, our battles attracts hundreds of ferals: zombies that do not belong to a group. And while they appear to be disorganized, the Horde has learned to harness the power of the ferals to great effect in all of our major campaigns. Caiger Mall, Stickling Mall and Giddings Mall may have been opened by the Horde and its allies, but it is the ferals who prove us with the mass to destroy the human armies inside.
The Shacknews Horde is a comprised of people who frequent a website called Shacknews (www.shacknews.com). At first, the information and forum talk on "the Shack" -- as we affectionly call it -- was almost exclusively about games. But over the years, it's grown into a full-blown community. I've been a Shacker for over 10 years, and the Shack has been an invaluable resource not only for gaming news, but also for code tips (I'm a Microsoft web developer), amusing stories, informative news and personal advice. Our Horde is an extension of our Shacknews community, and our raiders enjoy playing Urban Dead as much for the comraderie as for the fun of role-playing as a brain-munching zombie.
