Argh! Bright! Do you mind toning down the red on that box? That's seriously painful... -- Odd Starter 04:56, 2 Nov 2005 (GMT)

What does the new forum offer that the existing ones don't? --Uborkapete 08:28, 11 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Well Uborkapete, for starters it's a lot easier to hold real discussions using the forum format, IMHO. If the Yahoo groups messages were organized into threads, or could be otherwise catagorized or such, it might mot be necisarry. This wasn't a big deal until we started getting a rapid influx of new members and 10+ messages a day. It's easier for me to scan conversations in a forum than sort out 10-20 messages to the group.

BTW Darby, I just (finally!) realized you were the groups founder. D'oh!! lol Why didn't you step up and take the Fire Chief possition?

Not enough game whisky.. er whiskers.. I am only level 9. Really shouldn't hold a DC position. And, I would like to see this continue even if I get gacked, or grow flighty, which I have been know to do. I was hoping to see an MPD form up too. So I am really trying to generate a healthy case of modesty.. :)Darby o'banon

Just noticed you removed the old yahoo group link. Just a bit of house cleaning on your yahoo account? ;) Anyone, I hope all is well with you and yours! --Gilant talk-DEM 18:58, 2 June 2007 (BST)

LMAO! Thanks - I did my best to keep them in accordance with the groundwork you laid out. It was your inspiration, and the type of players and activities you wanted in the MFD that has always been at the core, IMHO, of our successes. I (mostly) retired a few months ago, but still keep a bit of an eye on things. They had a serious leadership shortage recently and a lot of the command staff are fairly new at their posts. But so far so good! Let me know how it goes! --Gilant talk-DEM 03:01, 5 June 2007 (BST)
