Description

Welcome to Paris! Pulses optional.

You are standing outside the Paris Motel, a derelict metal-and-glass building plastered with posters.

History

The Paris Motel was one of several ugly but profitable enterprises which opened in generally upscale Wykewood during the latter half of the twentieth century. Built in typically brutal 60s style, the Motel boasted "all mod-cons" such as Teasmades, clock radios and waterbeds. It was thus a popular destination for visitors to the notorious Crabbe Bank next door. Over the decades, and especially after the closure of the Crabbe, the Motel suffered a severe downturn in its fortunes.

Plans for an apparent hostile takeover by the Hilton Hotel corporation were mercifully interrupted by the outbreak. Considered one of the few good things resulting from the outbreak, residents of Wykewood were thus spared the embarrassment of having The Paris-Hilton Motel in their upperclass suburb. Presumably one open-all-hours flophouse was enough.
