Simon has decided that the only way to cope with the problems of Malton, is to curl up with a good book and "read in" to a solution. He is happily reading his way through the libraries of Malton. He does find the poetry a bit daunting, all this emphasis on death and morbidity. But maybe there is a clue that could solve Malton's problems.

Playing Wargames

Simon has decided that the only way to cope with the problems in Malton is to have a nice wargame with his old chum Brigadier P Young.

So they have found a quiet corner in the Featherstone Library in the Pescodside suburb and setup a Napoleonic Wargame. Simon, as ever the avid collector of details on the uniforms of the Austrian Army, has chosen to recreate Archduke Charles' famous defence of the Danube crossings, now known to the world as the Battle of Wagram.

The Brigadier, rather sportingly has taken on the role of Napoleon. This is not his favourite role -- a French genocidal maniac who plunged Europe into nearly a two decades of bloody warfare -- but Simon looked like he needed cheering up, so the Brig. put his ethical quibbles to one side, and put on that famous green Dragoons overcoat.

The game ended recently, and not as Simon would have liked it to.
