Description

History

Winsloe Towers was originally built as a local office building for the BBC, with the corporation taking advantage of property prices in the undesirable region to cheaply erect the offices. However, the decline of the regional channel led to its closure, with broadcasts instead merged with the larger provincial standard instead. With the closure of the BBC's offices, the building itself was converted to house luxury flats instead, or 'studio apartments', if you will. The building soon became home to local landlord Clement Arkwright, decried by the population of Millen Hills as a ham-fisted tyrant, inflating the rent in the nearby Arch and Digby developments, whilst allowing them to fall into squalor to keep his overheads low. However, with the settling of Millen's street-gang conflicts following the ousting of the Rogues gang by RDD, many of the more violent elements of RDD's foot-soldiers began targetting individual enemies. Along with the outspoken Father Hackett of St. William's Church, and the incorrigible DSI Samuel Hunt of Doe Avenue Police Department, Arkwright was found beaten, stabbed, and partially cannibalised in the the heavily-polluted ponds of Henslowe Park. Though a culprit was never officially found, the increased visibility of RDD's drug dealers and protection racketeers - along with the new tenants of Arkwright's old penthouse - left few with any doubt as to the murderers' identities.
