My Name is Grinkov

I've decided that the most valuable thing I can do is to revive zombies. We need more survivors, and after some cold nights spent at a crowded revive point in Rhodenbank, I decided that a good strategy would be to find a mall, and spend some days building up my skills by killing zeds and re-arming myself until I could get NecroNet skills.

I decided to come to a suburb near a mall where I can find ammo. I headed to Roftwood, so I could hang out at the Hildebrand Mall.

At the mall I met a survivor named Tapeo1 who taught me how to make an AK-74 which is like an AK-47, but firing a smaller round like the M16. I built one, and now those zombies are falling left and right.

This is my Tantal.

Because those zombies aren't going to kill themselves

And this is my MD63.

Don't forget to stock some Ammo!

And here's the Yugoslavian M70B1 AK47 I built.

AK47 - The one and only original. Accept no copies.

My very first AK was this Romanian Sweetheart

It's perfect for those "urban assault" missions.

If there are any survivors who want to learn how to make one of these babies for themselves I'm always glad to pass on the knowledge.

After wiping out the zombies in the Quartly Library Study Group, I had enough EP to become a NecroNet Reviver. This is what we should all be doing with our lives when we're not killing zeds. From now on I will take my Tantal and my Revivification Syringes, and I will service the Digby Walk Revive Point. If any of you wind up as zombies, come visit me, and say "Hi."

Edit - 9/07 - It turns out that the Quartly Library is a "No Murder Zone". Who'd have known? Sorry all you dead zeds. Heh, heh, heh.

Well the September Zed Offensive has pushed way down toward West Grayside, and I've been run out of Roftwood which is no longer anything like safe. I'm servicing Ebbutt Road these days, and trying to maintain the Necrotech Buildings in the area. I suppose it's all I can do until we can organize some kind of resistance to drive them back. I'm glad I have my trusty AKM for those dicey occasions.

Edit - 9/20/2007 - The Great September zed offensive has finally been repulsed, and West Grayside is safe once more. I spent the entire period servicing revive points where the slaughtered pugilists came to be returned to life once more. I shuttled back and forth among the Graysides and Kempsterbank gathering up revive syringes and returning to revivify as many folks as I could. I also found a toolbox, so I fixed every ruined building I came across that was unoccupied.

I'm starting to feel like maybe four AKs isn't enough for defending myself against today's wiley zombies. I mean, what if one breaks? Then another? One gets stolen, and the other starts to look ugly? What, oh what will I fall back upon???? Well it looks like the answer may be on its way.

I'm building another AK.

Now I know what you're going to say - Who on earth needs five AK47s? A valid question. Well, I do. I've been scrounging up parts from different guns to put one together. Now this one's going to be a Franken-AK, and as such it's going to require some extra work, but so far it's been coming together pretty well. In fact most of the hard work is done, and I have to test it, make final adjustments, then put on the metal finish.

I call her, "See No Evil"

Cause No Evil's Gonna See Her Coming!!!

Edit - 9/27/2007 - See No Evil shoots like a champ. I put over 400 rounds through her, and she worked 100%. I'm totally impressed. Zombies beware! There's a new sheriff in town.

Edit - 1/7/2008 - OK it would seem that five AKs is not enough after all. Since September I've built two more. Yes, I know, I know - this is approaching obsession, isn't it? I suppose it is. The good thing, though about crossing the line into insanity is that you no longer have to worry about hiding it. It's obvious for all to see, so you may as well "Smoke 'em if you got 'em." as they say.

Edit - 12/23/2008

Sigh...

Well here's one of the AKs I built. Assembling them is the easy part. Folding the sheet metal into a receiver is tricky. How rewarding though when you get your first head-shot among those zombies. You know your efforts were not in vain.

Now after a long hiatus, I give you - "Da Wabbit"

I think it's just adorable - don't you?
