Early Military Career (2002-2004)

Upon graduating Woodhey High School in the U.K, James immigrated abroad to the United States in order to attend Marine Scout Sniper Course Number 06 under The Marine Scout Sniper School. The very nature of Marine Scout Sniper training requires that the sniper candidates are physically and mentally prepared for the stress and rigors of training and sniping. Self-discipline and positive mental attitude can contribute tremendously to such psychological and physical readiness. Therefore he spent 2 full years’ undergoing vigorous training in order to become part of a sniper-scout two man team that graduated into the U.S military. He quickly progressed through the training regimes and impressed everyone with his devotion. Afterwards he Was Issued into the U.S Advanced Scout recon Force of The U.S Marine Core and was issued the codename of Scout2408.

Post Military (Early 2008)

After being assigned to a 2 year Iraq tour Scout2408 was medically discharged after receiving a fractured leg due to a heroic display of bravery and determination - During a stealth assignment against high ranking members of the Taliban their position had been compromised and were ordered to immediately retreat. However it was too late - they were pinned down so both scout 2408 and his team held their position against overwhelming enemy forces for 35 minutes using only their sniper rifles and claymore mines. After reinforcements arrived they made their escape but not after Scout2408 helped to eliminate 7 high ranking Taliban leaders and over 38 of their henchmen before being overrun. Just before they got to the extraction point the 2 man squad was fired upon by an RPG. Under duress of a broken leg and heavy fire, Scout2408 carried his injured comrade Over 500 yards to safety where he later died of his injuries whereas James was medically discharged and received The Navy Cross and an Iraq Campaign Medal for his Heroism.

Afterwards he returned to the U.S and set up home in the small town of Malton working as a Police Sniper after his injury had sufficiently healed. 3 months later however strange things started happening in the town of Malton... Strange news reports and media blackouts. After speaking with an old military buddy (Intel guy was his codename) he found out enough to know that he shouldn't be asking as it had been highly classified by the military and an ex Marine Gunnery Sergeant wasn't going have the need to know. However, his contact gave him what little information he could when he could, which wasn't much but when he was advised by his friend to prepare for the possibility of leaving town he got worried. the next day however the was called to a briefing of the Malton P.D and learned a very shocking truth... there were reports of the dead returning to life through the city of Malton and the military services were beginning to seal the town off to prevent the infection from spreading. he was placed with a taskforce that were deploying on the streets of Malton to try to combat this threat... oh how he wished he taken his old buddy’s advice and left while he could...

Diary

This is a journal I started to record my findings and events of this madness... should anybody find this I sincerely hope that it may help you in some small way

April 16th 2008

Well, where to start....

It’s been just over a month since this began for me, and let me say its felt like a year. At first there was panic, then there was the looting then came the eye of the storm... ironically I think that was the worst, because at least with the rioting or the looting you knew what was happening where and when but now... nothing i have no idea what’s going on...

After being on the run for a month I've found out quite a bit - first off after the initial confusion a few groups both military and civilian have banded together to try and survive and help where they can... Speaking of which, one group who I've had a lot of dealings with recently call themselves THEM - they mostly reside in Chancelwood not too far away from my home before I abandoned it, they've helped me out a lot and I owe them big for helping me out of a few tight scrapes, Im currently in their...Well... Headquarters I suppose you could call it - The Haslock building an abandoned Necrotech building, a company which holds a few secrets let me tell you, anyways I’ve got to go now going to go check the barricades will write back tomorrow

April 17th 2008

So far, so good... My sleep was undisturbed last night, thanks to the ever vigilant people of Haslock keeping guard. Now that I've got the necessary tools and skills upto scratch I've been helping with the barricades and other jobs to help where I can.

There’s a hospital, not 2 buildings away... So I used my free running skills that I learned in training, to go gather some first aid supplies for the group. Anyways what I’ve learned so far is that this Necrotech corporation was one of the main causes of the dead going nuts on us, thankfully however, an anti virus was devised before all their buildings were abandoned - I swear it's like living through a Resident Evil movie but just with different places. Thanks to Dawn and Jelnock (Two people I’ve met in the Haslock building) I've been working on my hand to hand combat skills, seeing as it can be difficult to find ammo sometimes, this may very well come in handy…

Seems like I missed quite a bit during my sleep - Some zombies were able to break into the building for a few mins before everybody got it under control, Apparently this happens now and then so Im not too worried. We've got a lot of people here and they're very dedicated to defending the Haslock Building so I think we'l be fine for now.

April 18th 2008

Been quite a day today! I was officially asked to become a THEM member! All in all, im very happy and glad that i've been helping out enough to get noticed. Apart from the odd zombie breaking in (which quite frankly isn't much of a problem anymore) and a discussion about the pros and cons of combat reviving, so apart from that not a lots happened today.

April 18th 2008

Bloody hell! Jeez that was close... I was asked to go to OCPD, seeing as a few people there needed heals and seeing as I already had a few spare Fak's I voulenteered. I'd never been to OCPD before so I was using the chancelwood suburb map and I got there reletivley soon but then my leg gave out at THE WORST time. Right in front of a load of zombies >_< gladly they were busy trying to rip OCPD barricades to shreds, but I got spotted by one and he started on me... I only barely made it into a nearby church. Soon After I made it into OCPD and distributed a few heals. Im now spending my time split between gathering Fak's from the hosp next door and helping out in OCPD.

April 19th 2008

Nothing much to report, am currently holed up in dunstan hospital next to OCPD gathering medical supplies.

May 29th 2008

YES! I thought I'd lost this journal somewhere in OCPD. but it turns out that somebody from ocpd found it and returned it to me whilst I was at haslock ^^ Awesome. A lots changed since before I found this again... Its quieter, less zeds about and Im not hearing anything either... summats up I can tell, it feels kinda like the calm before the storm kinda thing... The zeds dont just start going away for no reason... Somethings wrong...

June 01 2008

Well Im back at OCPD after doing my rounds round Chancelwood and Curton so I can stock up on ammo. Nothing much going on at the moment... However I reccently mentioned the possibility of forming a strike group to the other THEM members... And I must say its peaked a few interests - I put in my 2 cents about the subject as did a few others. It's just speculation at the moment but I do like the idea of taking the fight back to them damn zeds. Plus it'd help recruitment and train our members. Anyways Im gonna take a quick nap, peace out.

June 05 2008

Looks like the strike team has the go ahead! Finally some action! For a better cause too - better to be on the offense than the defense after all. So far its Me, Shank, Rddr, Sykes, Shedwrecker and Pastryviolence. The plans to head to Dowdney Mall, stock up on supplies then secure the area by sweeping through clearing out all the zeds. Also a name that one of us came up with is seeming to stick... The Haslock Knights... Bit cheesy I know, but I like it.

Im at Dowdney now stocking up and waiting for the others to get here... Shanks already here too, and it shouldn't take the others long.

June 07 2008

Right everythings ready! Plan is to go to Payntertown and meet up with a local survivor group called the South Payntertown Aces... From there we'll be assiting them anyway we can and going on zed hunting runs, so that we can hopefully bring down the area's danger level. Sykes has already got there and has made contact with them apprently, good man he is... Bit enthuseastic at times but hes a good team member, always on the job :). The rest of us are either at dowdney mall stocking up before we head out or are already on route to Payntertown, Im gonna head off in the morning until then - later!

June 09 2008

WOW What a freaking day - I make it to gracewood right? The Ace's headquarters in paynertown, and theres already zeds attacking the place - I took out 3 of them and injured a fourth within about 3 minutes whch I was proud of ^^ the place is currently zed free at the mo and lightly barricaded... hopefully its enough to let me sleep for a while... im knackered fromt eh journey and the fighting...

June 11 2008

I Take ONE FREAKING NAP and look where it got me - DEAD. Man that was like some crazy drug trip or summat, I can remember bits and peices but nothing much... Luckily crosshead shoved a needle in my neck and brought me back to life. While I was dead to the world ( pun intended) apprently the gracewood had been overrun - But we took it back ^^

June 12 2008

Gracewood's held up for the most part during the night/early morning, earlier in the day I decided to head to the PD a few blocks NW of Gracewood as im running low on supplies. (thanks to Sykes for the directions) However this lone zed keeps braking thourgh what little barricades I can errect on my own - I've already killed it twice >_< This has been a hectic start to our stay in Paynertown but its been a good one, I've already gained valuble experience for the future ^^ anyways Im off a a bit - Later!

June 13 2008

Ahh feels good to have ammo again ^^ although Im probbably gonna of used it up by the end of the day - Looks like we're about to be attacked...

April 05 2009

After a year of doing odd jobs around Malton im finally back at Haslock! reunited with the old crowd and the smell of pie! As usual we've got zeds outside but thats nothing new to me. Im settling in for the night after all its been a long journey to get back here!
