As such, shopping centres are frequently used as safehouses and fortresses by survivors. Zombies often check inside (when they can get in), and organized zombie groups sometimes lay siege to them. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point. Characters with the Shopping skill can loot specific stores. Those without will find these items at random: Bookstore: books, poetry books. Drugstore: first aid kits. Gun Store: pistols, pistol clips, shotguns, shotgun shells. Hardware Store: crowbars, fire axes, flare guns, spray cans, knives, portable generators, toolboxes. Liquor Store: beer, wine. Sporting Goods: baseball bats, cricket bats, fencing foils, golf clubs, hockey sticks, pool cues, ski poles, tennis rackets. Tech Store: GPS units, mobile phones, radios, radio transmitters. Shopping centres are large buildings, and are often barricaded as such.

Description

Borehamwood Shopping Centre [570,56] - [571,57] is a four-block shopping centre located in the Borehamwood suburb of East Borehamwood. It is one of only two such shopping centres in the entire city; the other being Elstree Shopping Centre [507,87] - [508,88].

Barricade Policy

There is no set barricade policy for Borehamwood Shopping Centre, though it is advisable not to barricade past VSB++ too early on, so as to not close the mall to survivors without the free running skill

3 August 2009: The shopping centre has been pulled out its state of decay and is now open for those who remain

November 2008

23 November 2008: Devoid of survivor presence after the Borehamwood Party Crew threw a bash inside, inviting ferals to join in.--DJ Deadbeat 07:59, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

14 November 2008: The shopping centre seems quite safe for survivors at the moment. All 4 corners were powered, populated, and barricaded. The 2 southern corners were 'caded past VSB++. The 2 northern corners were enter-able. No zombies were spotted outside the shopping centre.

October 2008

31 October 2008: The Mall appears safe for survivors, with 3 corners powered. A new option for powered squares in this Mall is to "watch television." Doing so provides the number of survivors inside the lounge of the Big Brother House. Here's and Iwit of the message received from watching television:
