History
Bishop Healy, long among the ranks of the shambling dead, has returned to the land of the Living and is looking to reestablish a cathedral for the Diocese of Malton. After long months of research and prayer, the bishop determined that St John the Beloved in Vinetown is the only plausible choice. But the suburb of Vinetown has been experiencing major problems of late and only a small band of unlikely warriors led by a resourceful nun have managed to maintain any semblance of reliable survivor presence. This group is, of course, M.E.R.C.Y.: the storied but gravely outnumbered defenders of Vinetown. Hearing of M.E.R.C.Y.'s heroic plight only further convinced the bishop that God's mind was made up as to the viability of St John's in Vinetown. But how could a priest of such advanced age be any use to an essentially military mission? Bishop Healy therefore contacted an old friend, a shadowy and dangerous mercenary called Veb Nworb, to ask her advice. Their discussion led to the founding of A.V.E.--Aide for Vinetown's Exhausted--a support contingent designed to assist M.E.R.C.Y. from outside of Vinetown.
