Haynes Square was named for Captain Angus Haynes of the Highland Light Infantry. Why an obscure Scottish soldier who died in the Defence of Festubert would have a square named after him in [[Malton]] is unknown.

Roleplay Description: Haynes Square is a large open town square in Kempsterbank. The otherwise grassy square has two paths making a diagonal cross, with benches facing onto the paths and trees growing behind them to provide shade. Around the square proper is a low brick wall.

History

Though the area was mostly working-class, as evidenced by the nearby factory and junkyard, the entertainment put on by the Isherwood Cinema, the moral instruction provided by St. Helier's Church provided moral instruction, and the presence of Sweatman Walk Police Department ensured that the square remained almost entirely crime-free. Only in the years following the Malton Incident has crime arisen in the area, mostly of the cannibalistic-assault variety, with a small amount of graffiti.
